My Journey from Scout to Eagle

Seattle Troop

My journey with Scouting America began in 2017 when I joined Troop 166 in the Chief Seattle Council. Currently, I hold the rank of Life Scout with Eagle Scout advancement in progress.

As a patrol leader within Troop 166, I have organized and led group outings for teams of scouts, managed meal planning, procurement, and preparation for the execution of multi-day camping trips, and mentored younger scouts through their rank advancement process.

I have earned badges in Citizenship in Community, Nation, and World, Environmental Science, Life Saving, Communication, Cooking, First Aid, and Camping, among others.

My Eagle Scout Project is a reflection of my interests in protecting the environment, helping underserved communities, and economic projections and planning strategies.

I secured funding through grant applications, organized volunteer efforts and am now working on developing quantitative frameworks for measuring the economic value of urban agriculture systems.

Washington Trails Association

My volunteer work with the Washington Trails Association contributes to environmental conservation and stewardship of Washington State’s natural heritage. I have completed over 70 volunteer hours across 11 projects spanning from Mt. Baker to Leavenworth.

The Heather Meadows-Lake Ann Trail project in Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest required a two-day restoration effort in August 2023, involving work in alpine conditions to maintain access to one of the region’s most spectacular hiking destinations.

The Big Rock Park South project in Sammamish during August 2023 focused on urban-adjacent trail maintenance.

The Ring Hill Forest accessibility improvement project in Woodinville during April 2024 focused on making trails more accessible to diverse user groups, providing more equitable access to natural spaces.

The week-long Icicle Gorge Nature Loop restoration in Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest during June-July 2024 required wilderness restoration techniques.

Most recently, I have been involved in the Longfellow Creek trail building project in Seattle in June of 2025. This two-day project involved moving six tons of gravel to create 300 feet of new trail and coordination with other volunteers.

I have hands-on experience with trail building techniques, drainage repair, debris clearing, and rock stair construction.

Economics and Finance

The University of Washington Summer Springboard Business Competition in July 2024 gave me experience leading my team as CEO. We developed a comprehensive business plan for a sustainable shoe company that utilized recycled materials and then partnered with local artists for Pacific Northwest market launch. We completed detailed financial modeling, market analysis, and I gave the investment pitch to a real-world panel of venture capitalist. We took first place in the competition.

I have personally achieved a +183% return through self-managed investments in technology and emerging markets, beginning when I was approximately 11 years old.

My work on the Urban Food Systems Index (UFSI) from 2023 includes economic valuation methodology. This comprehensive framework translates multiple environmental, social, and economic factors into a single quantitative metric for municipal government use in sustainability and resilience planning for climate emergencies.

The project, which grew from my Eagle Scout work at Magnuson Community Garden, includes the creation of urbanfoodsystemsindex.com as a platform for disseminating this research and hopefully engaging policymakers in planning for the resilience of local community gardens.

Track and Field Athlete

I have been running as long as I can remember. I was honored to be selected as Cross Country Team Captain for Fall 2025, elected by both coaches and teammates.

My personal records include a 5K time of 16:29, a 3200-meter time of 10:10, and a 1600-meter time of 4:42.

My training regimen includes logging 1,842+ miles in 2024, while averaging 38.3 miles per week.

For the Washington State 3A Cross Country Championships, I contributed as a scoring member of my team’s 4th place finish, individually placing 50th. The previous year, in 2023, my team finished 6th.

Beyond state championships, I have competed in local and regional competitions. I have run in the USA Today Seattle Hot Chocolate 5K (1st place in both 2024 and 2025, 5th place in 2023) and completed the Amica Insurance Seattle Half Marathon in November 2022.

In my freshman year, I earned the recognition as Track & Field Varsity “Newcomer of the Year” in 2023.
